Modern art is a funny thing. Most of it takes us about half an hour to work out, and another half hour to work out whether we like it or not. By which time we’re bored.
So for that reason we really like this installation by Rebecca Ward, in that it is fantastically simple at first glance, and actually engaging. Art made with tape
This is not to demean the work. We shudder to think how much work goes in to setting up these installations and they are amazingly precise, being made entirely out of pieces of tape. Each one is specific to the space in which it is installed and is more a decoration of the space than something within it.
Anyway, they appealed to us as a piece of modern art that we could actually get on with, so it had to go up…
